Rodney Collins
Rodney Collins started out working for local newspapers in Surrey and then the music press as a journalist for Record Retailer (now Music Week) and as News Editor for Record Mirror. He was the first British journalist to report on, and visit, Radio North Sea International and was responsible for editing a regular supplement on Radio Veronica which added 60,000 to Record Mirror's sales in Europe.
At the end of the 1960's he worked for ATV in their theatre and record divisions before joining BBC Radios 1 and 2 in 1971, working in publicity and presentation and contributing to programmes like "Scene and Heard". Then he joined commercial radio, as Director of News Programming for Radio Luxembourg and - later - as part of the set-up team for Atlantic 252, the long wave radio station launched at the end of the 1980s. He presented Luxembourg's long-running "208 Editorial" programme for ten years and was responsible for live coverage over Radio Luxembourg for four general elections.
It was during this period at Radio Luxembourg that Rodney first started working with Radio Outreach, a Christian charity with programmes world-wide. It was the start of an association that has continued until the present day, some 35 years after the first programme was aired. Around the same time, Rodney started working with the US singing star Gene Pitney, compiling several LP and CD releases over the years until the star’s untimely death in 2006.
After a spell as Managing Director of local stations in Glasgow and London, plus some time as Director of Programmes at Manx Radio, he joined Isles FM in Stornoway in 2000.
Rodney still broadcasts weekly for Isles FM, the local commercial station that serves the Western Isles and Highlands of Scotland, produces CD's and runs a small hotel on the East Yorkshire Coast with his family – see more at http://www.theradcliffeguesthouse.co.uk/
In 2006 he became an independent producer of www.offshoremusicradio.com and in 2009 joined the Board of www.replayradio.net

Carron McColl
Although I was born and brought up in the land of the Brummis, I’ve celtic roots and have lived in Scotland over 25 years. To me, music has always been a way of life and I have been involved in it’s world in one way or another from an early age either as a musician, singer or DJ.
Being born in the late...... I said late 60’s, the era was influenced by either Skinheads, Mods or Bikers; their music, style and way of life. I never quite imagined shaving my head, wearing braces or trousers that had fallen out with your shoes, and being the daughter of a biker, I thought Lambretta’s were the equivalent of hairdryers. Therefore, bikers, leather jackets, jeans and rock was the natural option and has stayed with me ever since. Although many see me as the original rock chic as I’m either singing rocks songs, present a weekly rock show or riding my 10ft trike, I love all types of music especially classical and initially started out as a trumpet player in a jazz band and went on to play solo trumpet for the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. From there on, I expanded my rage and have either sung, played or conducted for and with different types of bands. Being a mother with 3 beautiful daughters who are also musicians and radio presenters means that music is a constant in my life both professionally and personally........ who could ask for more!

Allanah Maciver
Hiiyah I'm Allanah Maciver Born 1992 and live in Lower Sandwick just outside Stornoway. I started Isle FM as part of my Duke of Edinburgh award in early 2009. I now have been given the opportunity to present a show on a Friday night "Friday Live!" with Sharyn Murray and Gemma Macdonald which we all really enjoy. We cover a wide variety of upbeat music. =D

Laura McColl
My name is Laura and live where ever the wind may take me. I present Serenity in Disarray on a Wednesday morning 10am - 1pm, thats if I wake up in time. The show plays music of all genres. There are too many music genres around the world to love only a few so I like to play everything.
Been volunteering at Isles FM since 2001, whether it was answering phones for Moonlight Shadow or doing the Woolies charts back then. Left for a little while but you can never really leave Isles fm. Its like a little family away from home. Albeit dysfunctional and completely mad.. Love the Radio, love the music, love sharing my music.
Im pretty open but alot of people don't know that I Have a personality that can only be described by my outlook on life - I live in the land of faeries and unicorns. Yes you did read that right. I live for hugs and Positive vibes and this outlook on life allows me to believe in things most people see as being stupid, pointless or mundane.
I have a passion for photography - people change but the memory a hoto leaves wont. You will rarely see me without a Camera.
And last but not least I hate Politics and anything related. But only cause they mess with my land of fairies and unicorns.
To sum me up is simple : Big and Bubbly, Pierced and tattooed, Loud and Loving.

Ian MacPherson
Born and brought up in rural Inverness-shire, Ian followed his chosen police career, and the local entertainment scene, around the Highlands and North and Western Isles for some 34 years, the last seven years of which were spent in Stornoway.
Since retiring from this twelve years ago Ian has worked in the Social Work Department of the local Council developing and providing a careline and telecare service to the elderly and infirm residents of the Western Isles.
He has held office in a variety of local organisations, charities and musical clubs but nowadays "has taken off his jacket to mingle with the crowd" in respect of most and enjoy this musical heritage that we are so richly blessed with.

Sharyn Murray
Hi, my name is Sharyn Murray! Born 1992 and I became involved with Isles FM through my volunteer work with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme in February 2008. I’ve been hooked ever since!
My most memorable experience is the 2008 Hebridean Celtic Festival, in which a few friends and I were drawn in to help with the coverage: outside recordings, after-parties and interviews with the main acts! Ah yes…that Seth Lakeman interview was one of my greatest achievements to date!
More recently, I have been given the opportunity to present ‘Friday Live!’ along with my fellow volunteers / great pals, Allanah and Gemma. We all love music and our different tastes provide a fantastic mix of tunes for all to enjoy.
