Finlay's Musical Pharmacy

Format Music show
Genre Easy Listening
Presenters Finlay MacKenzie

The Musical Pharmacy started out in the late 80’s as a hospital radio show on Radio Ranol, called Dr Ranols Musical Pharmacy.  Firstly based in the old county hospital then moving to the snazzy new studios at Ospadal Nan Eilean.

The presenters at that time were the Uriah Heep lovin’ Daniel O Donnell hatin’ John A Macleod and myself, we played a mixture of music ranging from classic rock to indie hits of the time.

Unfortunately we made more people sick, and pretty soon the hospital beds were all full.  I think that the final straw was our playing “Suicide is Painless” by the Manic Street Preachers

We then heard about this groovy new community radio station and pretty soon we were on board with Isles FM, much to the relief of hospital patients and staff alike.

A mixture of eclectic new music from indie to electro, forthcoming releases and reissues some older gems and overlooked bands.

Have a drink on me
But go easy...step lightly...stay free’
